Charles W. Oswald, KU Alum's gifts place Economics Department on road to international recognition

Charles W. Oswald, current chairman of Rotherwood Investments LLC, former Chairman and CEO of National Computer Systems, 1970 until 1994. Mr. Oswald received an M.A. in Economics, University of Kansas, 1951. His gifts to the department have placed the University of Kansas Economics program on the path to international recognition.

The Oswald Program in Economics for Undergraduates is named in honor of Mr. Oswald.


Toru Hashimoto, Chairman of the Fellow Committee of Fuji Research Institute Corporation, and affiliate of Fuji Bank, Japan Toru Hashimoto, Fulbright Scholar, 1959-1960, Graduate School of Economics, University of Kansas.
Mr. Hashimoto became Chairman of the Fellow Committee of Fuji Research Institute Corporation, an affiliate of Fuji Bank, Japan, in June 2000, his current post. When he visited the department in 1998, he was Chairman of the Board of the Fuji Bank.
